Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist (Outpatient) - Overage

Location: Mike OCallaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC) Nellis AFB NV 89191

Tentative Start Date: 18 Oct 2026

No. of FTEs Required: 1 FTE

Work Schedule: 8 11-hour shifts betweenMonday Saturday not to exceed 40 scheduled hours per week including an uncompensated 30 60-minute lunch break. Includes pooled overage support requirements of up to 50 hours per FTE annually. No on-call requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).

• Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional pharmacy experience following graduation.

  • Experience in outpatient pharmacy operations and medication dispensing.

• License/Certification:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Current full active and unrestricted pharmacist license in a State District of Columbia Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or U.S. territory.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a full range of outpatient pharmacist services in support of pharmacy operations.

• Review and verify prescription orders for accuracy appropriateness interactions contraindications allergies dosage ranges and therapeutic duplication concerns.

• Counsel patients regarding the safe and appropriate use of prescribed and non-prescription medications.

• Prescribe medications in accordance with established agreements protocols and MTF procedures when authorized.

• Consult with physicians nurses dietitians physical therapists and other healthcare providers regarding medication therapy and patient treatment options.

• Monitor patient medication profiles and document clinical interventions in accordance with department policy.

• Compound medications required to support patient care.

• Ensure the accuracy and quality of pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by pharmacy technicians.

• Maintain inventory control and accountability of pharmaceuticals including controlled substances.

• Ensure pharmacy security and compliance with all applicable federal state DHA and MTF pharmacy regulations.

• Perform prescription verification activities at workload volumes comparable to peer pharmacists.

• Complete quality assurance and quality control measures and reports as assigned.

• Assist with workflow coordination and task assignment for pharmacy technician staff.

• Contribute to a positive safe and efficient pharmacy work environment.

• Maintain accurate documentation within approved pharmacy and electronic medical record systems.

• Comply with MTF medical staff bylaws patient safety requirements and infection control policies.
