Cloud Infrastructure Architect (Azure / VMware)

First Century Bank is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and operation of our hybrid cloud and datacenter environment. This is a hands-on architecture role combining technical leadership with direct engineering responsibility in a production environment.

You will play a critical role in advancing the Banks cloud strategy and ensuring secure resilient and high-performing infrastructure supporting core banking and fintech platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage hybrid cloud architecture across Microsoft Azure VMware (vSphere/ESXi) on-premises infrastructure and datacenter.
• Lead cloud adoption system modernization and infrastructure transformation initiatives
• Architect and support Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for disaster recovery and business continuity
• Administer and optimize VMware vSphere / ESXi environments including clustering performance tuning and lifecycle management
• Oversee virtual machine lifecycle management (provisioning patching optimization decommissioning)
• Manage backup and recovery solutions using Veeam including replication restore testing and retention strategies
• Develop and maintain PowerShell automation to improve efficiency consistency and operational standards
• Monitor system performance availability and capacity; proactively identify and resolve risks and issues
• Partner with Information Security Audit and business teams to ensure compliance and alignment with regulatory requirements
• Maintain documentation architecture diagrams and disaster recovery runbooks.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering systems architecture or cloud architecture
• 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and experience supporting VMware (vSphere/ESXi) environments including design deployment and operations.
• Strong experience with enterprise infrastructure including virtualization storage and datacenter environments
• Strong understanding of infrastructure resiliency backup/recovery monitoring and patch management
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and performance issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services banking or other regulated environments
• 4 years of experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
• Experience with Azure governance identity monitoring and cost optimization
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Bicep ARM templates)
• Experience with Windows Server Active Directory and enterprise networking concepts
• Experience with cloud migration and hybrid connectivity design
