Job Summary

We invite expressions of interest from experienced committed and fully registered sessional kindergarten teachers.

With 30 sessional kindergartens and long day centres across the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne we are big enough to offer career stability flexibility and progression AND small enough to know you as an individual. We are proudly a not-for-profit organisation working closely with the local councils and the Victorian Department of Education.

Locations: want to meet you:
- Do you have at least three full years of experience as a Teacher in sessional kinder or the kinder room in long day care
- Do you have full VIT registration
- Do you have great references
- Are you skilled in including children with additional needs and working closely with families
- Do you have the skills to role model excellence in teaching scaffolding and documenting childrens learning in play based child led pedagogy
- Do people describe you as child-centred dependable confident competent positive and energetic
- Does your philosophy and practice include child led learning and inside/outside activity
We are NOT able to accept expressions of interest from early career and/or provisionally registered teachers. Vacancies suitable for early career teachers will be filled by current Sparkways staff.

VECTEA Terms & Conditions
- VECTEA salary rates for teachers with 3 to 5 years of experience is currently $43 to $47 per hour with increases and back pay expected before the end of 2026.
- Teachers with 5 years of experience are supported to complete the Capability Assessment and move to Level 3 status with rates starting at $50.59 per hour
