What You Will Do:

  • Execute defined projects focused on high temperature alloy development characterization and production implementation enabling new capabilities on current and future jet engines

  • Provide engineering judgement and expertise to characterize quantify and understand material capabilities of legacy and novel alloys

  • Projects will span new/repair technology development engine safety production support and cost reduction amongst other business driven needs

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on multi-disciplinary teams to identify opportunities and create solutions to support business needs

  • Work autonomously with limited oversight on projects that are difficult and complex

  • Serve customers across the enterprise (supply chain engine programs advanced technology) to plan execute and report on technical research and development projects

  • Communicate effectively across many levels of the organization to both internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • B.S. degree in Materials Science Engineering or Chemistry

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.)

  • Must be a US Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with alloy development characterization and processing techniques for high temperature aerospace alloys.

  • Familiarity with computational modeling tools to build and understand processing structure property relationships including mechanically and environmentally driven failure modes.

  • Flexibility to adapt to fluid customer requirements priorities and schedules and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Self-motivation to help plan and execute required tasks and lead a team to achieve significant goals with little outside direction.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team with strong communication skills

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
