Job Summary
I. Job Summary
Performs advanced staff services work. Work involves planning directing and overseeing several staff services functions; and supervising the work of others. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
II. Essential Functions
A. Oversees the performance of a variety of technical research planning policy program assessment and administrative activities for assigned programs; plans and coordinates special and administrative assignments and programs; oversees the development of programs and of adjustments to methods and procedures to comply with legislative and other changes; and plans and coordinates agency services with federal state and local authorities.
B. Oversees the completion of and monitors required performance reports and recommends appropriate changes; and oversees studies and analyses of operations and problems and the preparation of reports of findings and recommendations.
C. Analyzes internal processes and recommends and implements procedural and policy changes to improve operations; develops regulations and procedures; and prepares and reviews operational and special reports.
D. Screens interviews and recommends employment of applicants; and recommends promotions demotions merit increases disciplinary actions transfers and discharge of employees.
E. Supervises the work of others.
* Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed to be determined and assigned as needed.

III. Minimum Qualifications
A. Education Experience and Training
1. Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
2. Five years full-time wage-earning criminal justice operational review operational support technical program support administrative support or customer service experience.
3. Experience in the supervision of employees preferred.

1. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and management.
2. Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws rules regulations and statutes
3. Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure policies procedures rules and regulations preferred.
4. Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
5. Skill to coordinate with other staff departments officials agencies organizations and the public.
6. Skill in administrative problem-solving techniques.
7. Skill to interpret and apply rules regulations policies and procedures.
8. Skill in the use of computers and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment.
9. Skill to organize analyze and prepare statistical reports.
10. Skill to review technical data and prepare technical reports.
11. Skill to develop and evaluate administrative policies and procedures.
12. Skill to prepare and maintain accurate records files and reports.
13. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing spreadsheet database or presentation software programs preferred.
14. Skill to train and supervise the work of others.
IV. Additional Requirements with or without Reasonable Accommodation
