Operations Manager

The Opportunity

Were partnering with a well-established and financially robust Irish engineering business to make a key early hire into their new and rapidly growing power division. This is a rare chance to join at the ground floor with real visibility genuine influence and the backing of an experienced leadership team and full shared services from day one.

This is a pre-construction ownership role. Youll take projects from initial scope through design costing and planning before handing over to the Project Manager for site delivery. Client-facing technically credible and commercially sharp this is not a back-office position.

What Youll Be Doing

• Leading pre-construction on medium and high voltage electricity infrastructure projects from first scope to site-ready
• Preparing estimates bills of quantities and budgets with full commercial rigour across all work packages
• Serving as the key client contact pre-site engaging confidently on technical scope programme and approvals
• Coordinating across design H&S quality and environmental workstreams
• Managing subcontractor and supplier relationships negotiating work packages for best value
• Supporting tendering and bid preparation alongside the Head of Power
• Overseeing structured handover to the Project Manager at mobilisation

What Were Looking For

• Solid experience in MV/HV electricity infrastructure design pre-construction or project management
• Working knowledge of ESB/EirGrid processes and Irish HV safety rules essential
• Confident estimating and programming able to cost and plan a project with authority
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong client-facing communication technically fluent and professionally confident
• Proficiency in MS Project Excel and standard PM tools
• Contractor background preferred
