The Role

The School of Skilled Trades is seeking an Instrumentation Instructor for the Apprenticeship program. This is a full-time annual appointment starting on August 15 2026 and ending on August 14 2027.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Journeyperson/Red Seal certification in the related trade with a preferred minimum of five years of experience as a Journeyperson. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.
  • Knowledge of Northwestern Polytechnic courses and current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g. videoconferencing D2L) are desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit specifically one who is willing to take a risk to create opportunities.
  • Highly qualified faculty who seek to continuously improve instruction and meet the need of learners.
  • Willingness to work with and support the Teaching & Learning Centre.
  • Student Focused.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
  • A high level of integrity professionalism and accountability.
