In the role of Senior Advisor Environment you will provide handson environmental leadership and technical expertise to Power Operations across North America supporting daytoday compliance enabling safe and reliable operations and responding when it matters most. Acting as a trusted advisor and first point of contact you will navigate complex environmental regulations engage subject matter experts and connect operations teams with the broader Environment organization to protect our people communities and the environment.

What You Will Do:
Engage with facility staff on environmental matters such as operating permit compliance and reporting waste handling environmental clearances for O&M work vegetation and problem solving.
Accountable for the development coordination and implementation of environmental programs.
Oversee environmental consultants work related to Operations.
Coordinate and support environmental regulatory inspections.
Promote industry best practices by monitoring regulatory trends proactively identifying environmental issues and participate on assigned committees and special topic working groups.
Who You Are:
Bachelors degree in environmental physical or biological sciences engineering or similar related field.
Minimum 6 years environmental experience in power generation/transmission pipeline industry or oil and gas sectors.
A self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear purposeful messaging.
Ability to develop effective collaborative working relationships with colleagues from a variety of disciplines levels of the organization and geographic locations.
Experience in the power generation/transmission industry is an asset.
Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations specific to power operations.
Working Conditions:
Mainly office environment with up to 25% travel to project sites or other company offices. Ability to travel throughout Canada and United States and a valid passport are required.
Work or interact with a broad range of Company office and field staff supervisors and managers agency personnel landowners and the public.
Frequently changing priorities and job requirements.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping kneeling light moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds) reaching above shoulder repetitive motion typing sitting standing visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:
Ability to: understand remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines complete routine forms compose letters outlines memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
Salary:
Ranges from $96200 $130000 USD for US locations based upon candidates experience skills and internal equity.
Ranges from $94500 - $127500 CAD for Canadian locations (except Alberta) based upon candidates experience skills and internal equity.
Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
