- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends or 4 weekend days within the 13-week contract
- Holiday Requirement: Occasional based on facility needs
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat both adult and pediatric patients using a variety of occupational therapy techniques. The role focuses on improving patient functionality independence and quality of life through customized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals
- Perform diagnostic testing and functional assessments
- Deliver occupational therapy treatments and adjust plans based on progress
- Fabricate adaptive equipment and splints as needed
- Modify therapy techniques for patients with cognitive or physical limitations
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on therapy programs and home care
- Maintain therapy equipment and supply inventory
- Supervise and guide OT assistants aides and students
- Participate in quality improvement safety and infection control initiatives
- Assist with training and onboarding of new staff
- Maintain daily activity logs and billing records
- Attend meetings workshops and continuing education programs
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Active Occupational Therapist License (Massachusetts)
- Current BLS Certification
- Strong communication documentation and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to diverse patient needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in occupational therapy (adult and pediatric settings)
- Prior experience in rehabilitation environments
- Specialist certification (for advanced-level candidates)
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
- Flexibility to provide float coverage within regional service areas
- Strong focus on patient-centered care and functional outcomes
