Description

In an environment of continuous quality improvement the Supervisor Maintenance is responsible for establishing and implementing strategies and tactics that will develop and continually enhance the business and market leadership of MHS. This position will take a lead role in developing and implementing a standard format for business development activity and facilitate the process across the health system. The Supervisor Maintenance will lead business development processes to maximize the use of our resources. This position will be accountable for executing business strategies to increase volume revenue and MHSs overall market share. This will be accomplished through aligning and connecting physicians and building relationships throughout the region that will be beneficial to the health system. The Supervisor Maintenance develops and directs projects in conjunction with physicians hospitals ambulatory sites other entities and outside management companies/consultants that target growth through volume revenue and core market addition this position identifies researches and prioritizes new opportunities consistent with strategic goals of the strategy and business development division. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

Job Functions:

  1. Interprets standards requirements and regulations of accrediting and regulatory agencies and national state and local electrical building and plumbing codes to department staff. Develop proficiency and maintain a working knowledge of all Memorial Health System facilities infrastructure.
  2. Provide guidance and support during emergent system failures. Create and implement Alternate Life Safety Measures to mitigate risk to patients staff and infrastructure.
  3. Develop proficiency and maintain a working knowledge of HFAP chapter 11 (Physical Environment) and chapter 13 (Life Safety).
  4. Provide daily oversight and management of frontline staff.
  5. Perform supervisor standard work to include frontline staff rounding huddles scheduling asset management competencies validation and assist with contractor management.
  6. Maintain monthly reports and assist with budget preparation.
  7. Be familiar with all MHS construction projects and provide as assistance when required.
  8. Oversee landscaping contract.
  9. Has the authority and responsibility to hire transfer suspend lay off recall promote discharge assign reward discipline direct or recommend such actions by using independent judgment.
  10. Completes and conducts employee performance evaluations based on direct observation of their employees job performance.
  11. Granted authority to perform the supervisory duties and are held accountable for performing such duties.
  12. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.


Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Associate Degree in Industrial Technology or a minimum of 15 years of field experience in maintenance and construction related industries with a High School Diploma/GED in lieu of degree required.
  • Minimum of two years in managerial role required.
  • Valid drivers license and remain insurable by hospitals agent required.
  • Ohio Low Pressure Boiler License required.

Special Knowledge Skills Training:

  • Interpret standards requirements and regulations of accrediting and regulatory agencies and national state and local electrical building and plumbing codes to department staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions and to find solutions for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.

Compensation Details: Education experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
