Position Summary

The Master Plumber is a highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing plumbing systems installation maintenance and repair in residential commercial and/or industrial settings. This role requires advanced technical knowledge leadership abilities and compliance with all local state and national plumbing codes. The Master Plumber may supervise apprentice and journeyman plumbers while ensuring projects are completed safely efficiently and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties

  • Install repair and maintain plumbing systems including pipes fixtures water heaters and drainage systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues using advanced tools and techniques
  • Design and plan plumbing systems for new construction and renovation projects
  • Interpret blueprints schematics and technical drawings
  • Ensure systems comply with all applicable building codes and safety regulations

Project Oversight

  • Plan schedule and coordinate plumbing jobs from start to completion
  • Estimate labor materials and time required for projects
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance
  • Maintain accurate job records reports and documentation

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise train and mentor apprentices and journeyman plumbers
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to best practices
  • Delegate tasks effectively across team members
  • Promote a culture of safety and professionalism

Customer Service

  • Communicate with customers to explain issues solutions and project timelines
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and recommendations
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality workmanship and professionalism

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
  • Maintain proper licensing and certifications
  • Stay updated on plumbing codes regulations and industry advancements

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Master Plumber License (state-specific)
  • High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • 510 years of plumbing experience including supervisory roles
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems tools and materials
  • Strong understanding of local and national plumbing codes
