Position Overview:

The Chaplain Supervisor leads and oversees the chaplain team establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships. They will provide clear and consistent leadership evaluate staff performance and coordinate on-call rotations for both hospice and the hospitals. They will possess advanced knowledge of spiritual care service in healthcare settings and develop comprehensive patient care plans emotional-spiritual guidance and support to patients employees and volunteers. Cultural competence confidentiality and effective communication skills are crucial. The role involves documenting patient visits participating in professional growth activities and contributing to the chaplaincy profession. Additional responsibilities include hospital liaison duties ethics consultations coordinating and leading critical incident stress debriefings and performing assigned duties. The team leader ensures high-quality spiritual care while adhering to ethical and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Masters degree in Divinity Theology Psychology or related discipline from an accredited school of higher education.

2. Five (5) years of experience in professional chaplaincy plus two (2) years of experience as supervisor/manager of spiritual care programming and chaplains or similar group of employees or equivalent experience.

3. Comfort in both in-home and inpatient settings to include assisted living facilities adult family homes hospitals and the hospice house.

4. Strong understanding of the difference between chaplain work and religious ministry and ability to train to those differences.

5. Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) certification within 6 months of hire date.

6. Ability to work flexible hours including periodic evenings and weekends for agency events and on-call needs.

7. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and reliable transportation as driving is an essential function of this role. Must meet insurance eligibility requirements

8. Must have ability to independently drive within Tri-Cities Chaplaincys service areas to provide in-home patient and family services and support in clients homes facilities and community locations

9. This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.

10. Ability to report to the assigned work location(s) as scheduled and maintain consistent reliable attendance.


Preferred Qualifications:

1. Four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education from a training site accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).

2. Board Certification. a. Board Certification requires a minimum of 2000 hours of clinical experience (post-CPE) in a hospital or related healthcare setting with competency in electronic documentation.

b. Board Certification (BCC) from the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) or the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE).

c. Other national board certifications will be considered including Advance Practice Board Certification (APBCC) from the Spiritual Care Association (SCA).

3. Advanced education or training in organizational management or related field.

4. Advanced training in clinical and institutional ethics.

5. Bilingual in Spanish and English with the ability to speak read write and communicate effectively in both languages.

Compensation


Hiring Range:$81713.02/annually - $93862.57/annually

$3000 Sign on Bonus: : New hires are eligible to receive a $3000 bonus upon successful completion of 90 days of continuous employment in good standing.


Note regarding the listed pay range:

At Tri-Cities Chaplaincy we carefully establish pay ranges for our positions by taking various factors into account including education certifications knowledge skills experience internal equity and market conditions. These ranges are tailored to match the diverse programs and services we offer. Our goal is to ensure fair compensation for candidates based on these factors while maintaining internal peer equity.


Hiring Range: The starting pay range offered to new hires depending on experience and qualifications.

Sick Leave: Accrued in accordance with Washington State Sick Leave Law.

Wellness Days: After completion of the 90-day introductory period employees may convert up to two (2) accrued sick days annually into wellness days.

Retirement 401(K) Plan: Employees may contribute upon hire; employer matching of up to 5% begins the following January or June depending on Hire date after 1 year of employment.

Mileage Reimbursement: $0.72 per mile for eligible positions. (Subject to change based on IRS rates)

Premium Pay: Bilingual (Spanish) pay premium (subject to proficiency verification through ALTA language services)

Certifications: Certification-based premium pay as applicable and approved.

Tuition Assistance: Up to $5250 annually after one (1) year of employment.

Professional Development: Access to continuing education through platforms such as Relias Learning and CAPC.

5. Transportation: Maintain reliable personal transportation. Maintain a valid drivers license and vehicle insurance per state requirements.

6. Health Requirements: Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization declinations or approved accommodations as applicable.

7. Screenings: Pass criminal background and drug screenings.

9. Training and Orientation: Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.

10. Continuing Education: Complete ongoing education policy reviews and training be designated deadlines.
