Job Summary

Position Title: Speech-Language Pathologist School-Based (On-Site)

Employment Type: Full-Time Part-Time Options Available

Employer: EmpatSpeech (candidate is employed by EmpatSpeech not the school)

Service Setting: Traditional K12 School Campus (in-person on-site)

Locations: Santa Fe New Mexico Springfield MO Multiple Cities TX Multiple Cities California

Reports To: EmpatSpeech Clinical Supervisor / Director of Clinical Services

Licensing: Valid SLP license in the state of service (NM CA TX or MO preferred)

FLSA Status: Exempt

We partner with schools to place trained supported SLPs directly on campus bringing our evidence-based curriculum supervision model and professional development infrastructure into the heart of each school community.

The Opportunity

As a School-Based SLP with EmpatSpeech you will deliver speech-language services directly to students on a school campus using EmpatSpeechs curriculum assessment frameworks and clinical tools. This is a unique embedded role: you are part of the school community every day yet your clinical home is EmpatSpeech. Youll benefit from robust onboarding ongoing coaching and a collaborative team of SLPs while making a tangible daily difference for students.

What Makes This Role Distinct

Unlike a district-employed SLP or an independent contractor you will:

  • Be employed trained and clinically supervised by EmpatSpeech

  • Follow EmpatSpeechs curriculum documentation standards and service delivery models

  • Serve students within a school setting alongside school staff educators and administrators

  • Act as a professional bridge representing EmpatSpeechs standards while building trust with school partners

  • Participate in EmpatSpeech professional development peer consultation and quality reviews

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Service Delivery

  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations using EmpatSpeech-approved assessment protocols
  • Develop individualized treatment plans aligned to EmpatSpeechs curriculum framework and each students IEP goals
  • Deliver individual and small-group therapy sessions (in-person on campus) with fidelity to EmpatSpeechs evidence-based approaches
  • Implement culturally and linguistically responsive practices for diverse student populations
  • Collect and analyze session data to monitor progress and adjust treatment accordingly

School Community Integration

  • Build and maintain collaborative professional relationships with teachers special education coordinators school psychologists administrators and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings student support team meetings and school-based collaboration as a representative of EmpatSpeech
  • Communicate effectively with school staff about student progress while maintaining FERPA compliance and EmpatSpeech confidentiality standards
  • Navigate situations where school expectations and EmpatSpeech clinical standards may differ escalating to EmpatSpeech supervision when needed
  • Serve as a visible trusted presence in the school building

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete all clinical documentation in EmpatSpeechs designated system within required timelines
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA state special education regulations and EmpatSpeech quality standards
  • Ensure all services are documented in accordance with IEP mandates and EmpatSpeech record-keeping protocols
  • Participate in EmpatSpeech data reviews outcome reporting and quality improvement processes

Professional Development & Team Participation

  • Attend all required EmpatSpeech training onboarding modules and continuing education sessions
  • Engage in regular supervision with EmpatSpeech Clinical Supervisor

  • Contribute to peer consultation team calls and EmpatSpeech community of practice
  • Pursue ongoing professional development in alignment with ASHA and EmpatSpeech standards

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree (MS or MA) in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA or CCC in active pursuit
  • Current valid SLP licensure (NM CA TX or MO strongly preferred)
  • School-based or pediatric clinical experience (practicum or post-graduate)

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

  • Commitment to culturally responsive equity-centered practice

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of school-based SLP experience post-graduation
  • Experience working with diverse student populations including ELL students
  • Familiarity with IDEA IEP processes and special education law
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills (Spanish strongly valued)
  • Experience with third-party or contracted service delivery in educational settings
