Location: This is an on-site role in Madison Mississippi with limited flexibility available.

Note: Candidates must have an active Mississippi Bar license 2 years of litigation experience and a defense-oriented background. Candidates with significant plaintiff-side attorney experience will not be a fit for this role due to insurance carrier billing and credentialing requirements.

Job Description

• Manage insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings motions discovery reports and coverage-related correspondence.
• Conduct depositions hearings mediations and court appearances.
• Analyze claims liability damages coverage issues and litigation exposure.
• Develop case strategy in collaboration with firm leadership and insurance clients.
• Communicate professionally with clients carriers opposing counsel experts and court personnel.
• Handle a caseload independently while maintaining strong responsiveness and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Mississippi.
• 2 years of litigation experience.
• Insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
• General liability first-party coverage subrogation or SIU experience is a plus.
• Alabama Bar license is a plus.
• Strong legal writing analytical communication and case management skills.
• Defense-oriented background required; significant plaintiff-side attorney experience is not a fit.
