HPC System Engineer Linux, Python, Red Hat

Description
The System Engineer shall be responsible for providing support for a large scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software day-to-day operations monitoring and problem resolution for all of the compute network memory and storage system addition the System Engineer shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements
A current Top-Secret/SCIwith polygraph security clearance (within 7 years) is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Experience
Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor degree in System Engineering Computer Science Information Systems Engineering Science Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.

Required skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Experience performing System Administration including installation configuration and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large scale Linux cluster environment
• General technical knowledge regarding compute network memory and storage system components
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite systems management solution
• Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations monitoring and problem resolution
• Experience with configuring and sustaining a VMware ESXi/Virtualization environment
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
• Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and procedures
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

Desired skills:

• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience with distributed files systems such as Weka CEPH GPFS and HDFS
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
