Chief Underwriting Officer Responsibilities:
The Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) is expected to be the executive leader responsible for driving the overall underwriting strategy and ensuring the profitability of SPG Cargo & Logistics entire risk portfolio.
This critical role involves establishing underwriting guidelines pricing models and risk appetites for specialized coverages such as motor truck cargo liability and marine while also overseeing the overall structure of the underwriting team and the processes involved in underwriting risks.
The CUO is also expected to oversee employee mentorship and training while leading a team of specialized underwriters to maintain technical excellence regulatory compliance and sustainable premium growth.
Finally this role will also involve working alongside other senior executives to develop new products to further expand the capabilities of the underwriting department.
Salary Transparency:
Disclosure required under applicable law in California Colorado Illinois Maryland Minnesota New York New Jersey and Washington states: The expected salary range for this position is $325000 with additional bonus based on the growth of your overall book of business.
