Position Summary
The Supply Chain Performance Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier quality and performance through robust management of PPAP processes Supplier Change Requests (SCR) and data-driven performance monitoring.
This role operates within an Aerial Work Platforms environment and is heavily focused on supplier industrialization compliance and change control ensuring alignment with JLG/Hinowa regulatory and customer requirements.
In addition the position drives supplier performance improvement through KPI analytics and supports New Product Development (NPD) activities to ensure successful supplier readiness and launch execution. The role interfaces closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the review validation and approval of PPAP submissions (Level 2 and equivalent) across multiple programs
- Ensure compliance with engineering regulatory and customer requirements
- Validate dimensional reports control plans PFMEA material certifications test results and MSA studies
- Prepare and approve Part Submission Warrants (PSW) and associated documentation
- Own and manage Supplier Change Requests (SCRs) end-to-end including risk assessment validation and approval workflows
- Maintain accurate documentation revision control and audit readiness
- Coordinate closely with suppliers to resolve gaps and drive timely corrective actions
- Monitor and analyze supplier KPIs such as PPM OTD NCRs and responsiveness
- Develop and maintain supplier performance dashboards and reporting tools
- Identify performance trends systemic issues and improvement opportunities through data analysis
- Lead supplier performance reviews and drive accountability for results
- Initiate and manage SCARs and 8D processes for performance issues
- Define and execute supplier improvement plans based on KPI performance
- Support standardization of performance metrics and reporting across the region
- Own SQ deliverables for NPD projects at Hinowa plant level
- Lead or participate in APQP and supplier readiness activities
- Ensure suppliers meet quality timing and industrialization requirements for new launches
- Identify assess and mitigate supplier-related risks during development phases
- Support design and process changes impacting suppliers
- Supplier Industrialization & Continuous Improvement
- Validate supplier capabilities capacity and quality systems
- Support supplier readiness for serial production and ramp-up phases
- Apply Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance supplier performance
- Lead or support Supplier Continuous Improvement Events (CIEs)
- Drive implementation and adherence to standard work and SQ processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering Engineering Technology or related field
- 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Manufacturing Quality or Supply Chain Engineering
- Strong expertise in PPAP APQP FMEA MSA SPC and change management processes
- Proven experience managing supplier quality in an OEM or automotive-like environment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings GD&T and technical specifications
- Experience with supplier performance metrics and data analysis (PPM OTD etc.)
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive heavy equipment or industrial OEM environments
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) or Quality Core Tools
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards
- Experience with QMS systems supplier portals and PPAP platforms
- Strong data analysis capabilities (Excel Power BI or similar tools)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Experience in automotive heavy equipment or industrial OEM environments
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) or Quality Core Tools
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards
- Experience with QMS systems supplier portals and PPAP platforms
- Strong data analysis capabilities (Excel Power BI or similar tools)
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with regular interaction with manufacturing engineering and suppliers. Occasional travel may be required.
