TITLE: Migrant Education Secondary Math Tutor
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent
PURPOSE
To improve student achievement in secondary mathematics by providing intensive high-dosage instructional and non-instructional support to Migrant Education students under the supervision and guidance of a licensed administrator. The tutor must hold a current teaching license with a mathematics endorsement and will provide evidence-based mathematics intervention and tutoring aligned to student learning needs and district curriculum. The tutor may function in an instructional setting independently exercising a considerable degree of professional judgment and skill in planning delivering and monitoring instruction for secondary students. The tutor also assists in providing a safe supportive learning environment for students and performs related instructional and communication duties as needed.
*Some tutoring schedules may extend outside of the regular work day.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from Administrator and may receive guidance and direction from Administrative Assistant and/or ELD TOSA. Exercises no supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Valid Oregon teaching license with appropriate Mathematics endorsement.
- Willing to learn and implement new mathematics programs and evidence-based approaches.

- Comprehend and follow written and oral instructions and complete work within established timelines.
- Basic technology skills.
- Communicate with appropriate student age group requiring both empathetic and disciplinarian approaches.

- Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior speech and dress in a neat clean and appropriate manner for the assignment and work setting.

- Maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to a student family colleague or district patron and relating to District personnel.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Sherwood School District 88J and Oregon School Employees Association Chapter #103.
