Shipping and Receiving Clerk Level 1

Location Profile:

Aerospace Dynamics International Inc. (ADI) manufactures machined parts and assemblies for the commercial and military aerospace industries. It offers structural components caps panels bulkheads fittings longerons spars chords wing ribs thrust reversers structural machine parts manufacturing tooling and stretch form blocks.

ADI was acquired by PCC in April 2014. The company has received significant capital investments since the acquisition and has a highly positive growth trajectory ahead. Comprising seven facilities on its campus in Valencia CA ADI has over 240 full-time employees on staff.

Position Summary:

Level One shipping/receiving clerks will be expected to work under direct supervision and complete basic shipping and receiving tasks. These tasks include loading and unloading trucks verifying packaging slips and order content and performing visual inspection. Additionally shipping/receiving clerks may be responsible for packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods. Clerks must be able to perform basic packaging skills such as part protection verifying packaging information boxing taping wrapping stenciling banding weighing etc. Clerks must be certified to operate a forklift in order to move materials. They will also be expected to demonstrate basic computer and clerical skills for recordkeeping. This is an entry level position that typically requires 0-1 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Must maintain clean and orderly work area while following safety instructions.
• Must maintain good attendance according to shift-times or pre-arranged work schedule
• Load and unload delivery trucks and examining shipments for defects or shortages according to packing slips
• Following instructions to properly package materials for shipping
• Perform basic packaging skills to ensure that parts are not damaged in transit.

Required Skills:

• Ability to follow direction and execute basic shipping and receiving tasks.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word and MS Outlook)
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Position requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. carry up to 20ft and load parts in fixtures weighing up to 30 lbs.

Required Experience:

Level of Education:

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
• Forklift Certification
