Fixed Term Contract until 18/6/2027 (Maternity Cover).
The School of Chemistry is looking for aMass Spectrometry Instrumentation Support Technician.
The Opportunity:
As an Instrumentation Support Technician you will work closely with other member of the Mass Spectrometry Facility toprovide expert technical support to the research activities of the School of Chemistry and to external will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facilitys mass spectrometers and HPLCs. The role will include analysing samples training and assisting facility users and developing new will have direct contact with users of the facility to scope out the requirements determine timeframes generate data interpret the data to provide insights and generate reports. Where necessary you will also assist in maintaining the magnets routine maintenance and instrument cleaning.

Your skills and attributes for success:
- Ph.D. (or equivalent level of experience) in Chemistry Biochemistry or closely related subject with background in mass spectrometry and chromatography.
- Hands-on experience in the application of mass spectrometry and chromatographic techniques.
- Experience working in a facilityenvironment.
- Excellent communication teamworking and organisation skills.
- Self-motivated able to work independently and collaboratively
