Knowledge and Experience:
- Must be a certified Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) TSSP.
- Minimum 3 years progressive transit experience.
- Knowledgeable on Department of Transportation (DOT) ADOT
- Experience developing and implementing Safety Program Plans SMS policies procedures and corrective action.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
Skills:
- Ability to proactively identify risk trends and remedy through corrective action safety awareness etc.
- Ability to work collaboratively with assigned department to ensure contractually required safety numbers are achieved.
- Possess the temperament necessary for maintaining amiable relations with various levels of company personnel.
- Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Access Excel and Word.
- Ability to interpret and explain regulations to others.
- Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize.

Key Accountabilities:
Safety Management System
- Support the site implementation of the Safety Management System Plan comprehensive safety policies procedures and tools to enhance compliance with corporate direction in efforts to reduce accidents/injuries in the workplace.
- Monitor compliance with the KTAs SMS policies and procedures conducting ongoing safety auditing.
- Ensure all relevant statutory and regulatory safety polices are applied and adhered to.
Safety Assurance
- Monitor and evaluate the continued effectiveness of risk control strategies.
- Identify and assess new hazards introduced in the workplace.
- Oversee ongoing monitoring and recording of safety performance.
Safety Promotion
- Contribute to the safety culture through displaying exemplary safety-oriented behaviors.
- Ensure a just culture within the organization where all employees are treated fairly and justly and understand their contribution to the organizations safety philosophy.
- Plan schedule and deliver monthly safety meetings.
- Proactively leads safety improvement campaigns systematically in the field.
