Job Summary:**
The Patient Access Specialist at Biologics Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients accessing our specialized biologic therapies. This position is responsible for managing the administrative and logistical aspects of patient intake insurance verification and scheduling.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing patients guiding them through the access process for biologic medications.
* Verify patient insurance eligibility benefits and prior authorization requirements for prescribed biologic therapies.
* Educate patients on their insurance benefits potential out-of-pocket costs and available financial assistance programs.
* Collect and accurately enter patient demographic insurance and medical information into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
* Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders including physicians nurses and billing specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
* Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
* Resolve patient inquiries and concerns regarding access to care insurance and appointments in a professional and empathetic manner.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance patient access efficiency and satisfaction.
Job Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in healthcare administration business or a related field preferred.
* 2 years of experience in patient access medical front office insurance verification or a similar healthcare administrative role.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology particularly related to specialty medications or biologics is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare-specific software.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
* Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong customer service orientation with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKessons pay philosophy and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
