We are now looking for a Commissioning editor to join the Feast team! This is a 12-month NUJ fixed-term contract or staff secondment. You will commission and edit recipes for the Feast app.

This is a part time role 2 days a week.

About the role

  • Commission and edit app-exclusive recipes as part of the Feast and global lifestyle teams
  • Talent-scout recipe developers and maintain relations with existing contributors
  • Plan a schedule of content that will increase subscriptions and monitor its audience engagement
  • Liaise with Feast sub picture and social media editors on editorial content and with the Feast app development team
  • Develop and deliver a social content strategy in collaboration with the Feast and marketing teams

About you

  • At least 2 years experience on a national/regional newspaper magazine or website
  • Experience of recipe commissioning and editing
  • A good network of contacts
  • Excellent at talent spotting with a demonstrable ability to offer a diverse perspective
  • Enthusiasm for and interest in print and digital journalism
  • Excellent knowledge of food trends chefs cookbook authors and other food apps
  • Familiarity with the Guardian food archive and contributors
