Your Mission

The Site Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying securing and progressing strategic locations for the deployment of BYDs Flash Charging network within the assigned country or cluster with a primary focus on greenfield site development and the acquisition or retrofit of existing EV charging locations.

The role owns the end-to-end local site acquisition process from market scouting and feasibility assessment through commercial alignment permitting coordination and readiness for deployment. This includes identifying high-potential standalone sites mobility hubs retail destinations highway corridors and existing charging stations that can be upgraded or converted to BYD Flash Charging standards.

The Site Acquisition Manager acts as the primary local interface with landowners property developers utilities municipalities infrastructure owners and existing charging site operators where retrofit opportunities exist. The role ensures that acquired sites are scalable strategically positioned and aligned with BYDs long-term network expansion objectives.

The role works in close coordination with the Legal & Commercial team which provides contractual frameworks negotiation support and commercial governance. While the Legal & Commercial team owns contract structure pricing guardrails and risk management the Site Acquisition Manager owns local execution stakeholder management and deal progression.

A strong understanding of EV charging infrastructure grid constraints site redevelopment and operational scalability is essential to avoid long-term limitations on construction operations or future expansion.

What Youll Be Doing

  • 1. Site Identification & Pipeline Development

    Identify and proactively source suitable locations for Flash Charging deployment including:

    Highway and transit corridors

    Greenfield infrastructure opportunities

    Retail and commercial destinations

    Urban and mixed-use developments

    Public and semi-public land

    Existing EV charging stations suitable for retrofit upgrade acquisition or long-term lease

    Build and maintain a robust local pipeline of strategic sites aligned with BYDs long-term network rollout priorities.

    Actively identify opportunities to:

    Acquire existing charging locations

    Retrofit underperforming charging infrastructure

    Upgrade legacy fast charging sites into Flash Charging hubs

    Consolidate strategic charging positions in key mobility corridors

    Conduct initial site screening covering:

    Accessibility and traffic flow

    Site footprint and future scalability

    Grid availability and upgrade complexity

    Permitting risks

    Construction feasibility

    Long-term operational suitability

    Coordinate early feasibility checks with Deployment Energy Product and Technical teams to eliminate non-viable opportunities early in the process.

    2. Strategic Site Acquisition & Retrofit Projects

    Lead the identification and progression of strategic site acquisition opportunities including:

    Greenfield developments

    Long-term land lease agreements

    Acquisition of existing charging station locations

    Retrofit and modernization opportunities for legacy EV charging infrastructure

    Evaluate existing charging locations for:

    Grid capacity suitability

    Expansion potential

    Accessibility and traffic performance

    Operational limitations

    Redevelopment feasibility into Flash Charging hubs

    Coordinate technical and commercial assessments required to support investment decisions and site prioritization.

    Work closely with internal stakeholders to structure scalable deployment opportunities that align with BYDs long-term ownership and operational strategy.

    Escalate complex commercial structures acquisition risks or multi-party negotiations to the Legal & Commercial team where required.

    3. Local Stakeholder Management

    Act as the primary local interface with:

    Landowners and site hosts

    Commercial real estate owners and developers

    Existing charging site operators

    Municipalities and public authorities

    Utilities and grid operators

    Infrastructure and mobility partners

    Build trusted relationships to facilitate site acquisition permitting redevelopment and long-term cooperation.

    Represent BYDs long-term infrastructure investment strategy and network vision to external stakeholders and authorities.

    4. Commercial Coordination & Deal Progression

    Lead local commercial discussions within predefined pricing and commercial guardrails including those involving CPOs.

    Prepare site-specific proposals summaries and internal approval packages.

    Work closely with the Legal & Commercial team to:

    Apply standard contract templates

    Escalate deviations and risks

    Support complex or multi-party negotiations

    Ensure all commercial terms remain aligned with approved frameworks before contract finalization.

    5. Permitting & Pre-Deployment Readiness

    Coordinate permitting processes and local approvals in collaboration with authorities consultants and CPO partners where applicable.

    Identify and mitigate permitting access or zoning risks early.

    Ensure sites are contractually and practically ready for handover to the Deployment team.

    Act as the local owner of site readiness until Notice-to-Proceed.

    6. Cross-Functional Coordination

    Act as the bridge between local stakeholders and internal teams including:

    Site Acquisition & Partnerships

    Deployment

    Service & Maintenance

    Finance and Legal

    CPO commercial and operational teams

    Ensure that site-specific constraints commitments and risks are clearly communicated and documented.

    Support smooth transition from acquisition to deployment without contractual or operational blockers.

What You Bring

5 years of experience in site acquisition real estate development infrastructure expansion or EV charging deployment

Strong experience in greenfield infrastructure development and/or acquisition of operational infrastructure assets

Experience evaluating or developing EV charging sites is strongly preferred

Proven experience negotiating with landowners municipalities utilities infrastructure owners or commercial real estate stakeholders

Understanding of permitting processes grid connection constraints and infrastructure redevelopment

Commercially minded with the ability to balance rapid expansion and long-term asset value

Comfortable operating within standardized commercial and contractual frameworks

Ability to operate autonomously within a fast-moving matrix organization

Fluency in English and local language(s)

Willingness to travel within the assigned country or cluster
