Senior Back End Developer

Executive Summary:

The client is looking for an experienced Senior Back-End Developer to perform engineering tasks for back-end design and development efforts supporting current and new system capabilities and integrations for mission-critical programs.

Position Description:

Provide subject matter proficiency and analytical skills to support process improvement specialized studies and requirements definition for back-end architectures RESTful APIs and database management.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter proficiency for work described in the task.
• Provide analytical skills to support process improvement specialized studies and definition of requirements.
• Perform analysis planning developing requirements documents building functional models developing procedures developing functional architecture and other related management and technical duties.
• Perform engineering tasks for back-end design and development efforts including but not limited to developing back-end architectures to support current and new system capabilities and integrations RESTful API development and modification database management and data model development and optimization.
• Prepare conduct and document various systems tests and results to verify system operability and compliance with project standards and requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Bachelors degree in related field required (A Masters degree may substitute for 2 years of experience).
• 10 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with the ability to apply several tool suites related to DevSecOps microservices and containers.
• 10 years of experience in relational databases RESTful API development and integration.
• 5 years of experience performing back-end web design and development.
• 5 years of experience in Python and PostgreSQL.
• 5 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g. Jira).
• 5 years of experience testing web-based applications.
• 5 years of experience leading software development programs or projects.
• 3 years of experience with the following: AWS Infrastructure Kubernetes and RedHat Linux.
• 5 years of experience with at least five (5) of the following: Postgres RDS Exodus Python Luna Java Docker OpenJDK Ansible Packer Maven Kubernetes Red Hat.
• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment.
• Must be able to report on-site in Fort Meade MD up to five days per week based on customer requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments.
• 5 years of experience with DoW software development.
• Experience using Agile Test-Driven development.
• Experience integrating into DoW DevSecOps environments.
• 5 years of experience with CI/CD software development.
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing UX design tool suites (e.g. Sketch InVision).
• Experience structuring data so it can be integrated into machine learning technologies or AI capabilities.
