Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Infrastructure Architect to support enterprise-level database operations and architecture initiatives for a large-scale government environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across DB2 for z/OS Oracle and SQL Server platforms and demonstrate strong experience in designing optimizing and supporting integrated database infrastructures within secure enterprise environments.
This role requires a senior-level professional capable of driving database architecture strategy performance optimization disaster recovery support and operational excellence across multiple computing platforms.
Responsibilities

Design develop and optimize enterprise-level database schemas and architectures

Lead database infrastructure planning across DB2 for z/OS Oracle and SQL Server platforms

Perform advanced database administration monitoring tuning and performance optimization

Develop and maintain database standards procedures and operational documentation
-
Support data warehousing and integrated enterprise database environments
-
Conduct SQL code reviews and implement database optimization strategies
-
Manage backup recovery and disaster recovery processes
-
Support z/OS environments including JCL ISPF CICS and RACF
-
Administer and support CA GEN models and application objects
-
Collaborate with infrastructure security and application teams to ensure system stability and compliance
-
Mentor junior database administrators and technical staff
-
Participate in on-call rotation weekend support and production issue resolution

Ensure compliance with government security and infrastructure standards
Required Qualifications
Experience

15 years of hands-on experience in database administration and infrastructure support

Strong expertise in:

Microsoft SQL Server

Experience working on government or public-sector projects

Experience supporting enterprise-scale integrated database environments
