Hospitality Associates Part-TimePosition Overview: George Washingtons Mount Vernon is currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated staff for several positions in the fast-paced high-volume Food Court & Pavilion. We are a tourism-based organization thus weekend and holiday work can be required.
The Hospitality Associate is a front-of-house guest-facing role responsible for delivering a welcoming efficient and positive dining experience in the Food Court & Pavilion. This position supports daily food service operations through cashiering guest assistance cleanliness and upkeep of dining and guest areas. Hospitality Associates play a key role in maintaining high standards of service presentation and guest satisfaction. Compensation: $15.00 to $18.00 based on experience Expected Hours: 28-30 hours/week several shifts available including weekend and evening hours
Essential Duties: - Strong hospitality and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent personal presentation and professionalism
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask while maintaining food safety standards
- Team-oriented mindset and positive attitude
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn health and safety procedures
- Cashiering
- Serve customers at all the food stations
- Clean and stock the pavilion with condiments grab and go items and supplies
- Collect trash and deposit it outside in a larger trash can
- Clean the entire pavilion including sweeping/mopping the floor and hosing down the seating area
Qualifications: - Must be organized detail-oriented and flexible
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
- Must work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- 1-2 years of food service or restaurant experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate in English required
Work Environment: This role takes place in a busy restaurant or café setting involving regular interaction with guests and coworkers. The pace is fast and dynamic particularly during meal service times. Noise levels can be moderate to high. Physical Requirements:
Requires prolonged standing and walking carrying trays reaching and bending. Must be able to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds. Clear verbal communication and customer service skills are essential. The role also involves handling food and beverages.
