Job Summary:
The Azure Engineer is responsible for collaborating in design deploying and ownership of maintaining cloud
solutions within the Microsoft Azure platform. This role ensures that Azure environments are secure
scalable high performing and aligned to organisational goals. The Azure Engineer acts as a subject matter
expert for cloud technologies and provides governance and technical leadership across application delivery
security engineering and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture & Deployment
Design and implement Azure cloud infrastructures aligned to business and technical requirements.
Select appropriate cloud models (IaaS PaaS SaaS) and configure resources for optimum
performance and scalability.
Deploy cloud-native and hybrid architectures using best practices.
Infrastructure Management
Manage and maintain Azure resources including compute networking and storage services.
Monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot issues.
Optimise environments for reliability availability security and costefficiency.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Bicep PowerShell Python Terraform and ARM
templates.
Implement repeatable and scalable deployment processes through DevOps pipelines and CI/CD
practices.
Security & Compliance
Implement Azure security controls including identity and access management security
engineering and resource governance.
Monitor for threats vulnerabilities and deviations from compliance standards.
Ensure adherence to industry regulations and organisational policies.
Monitoring & Optimisation
Use Azure Monitor Log Analytics and related services to track performance health and usage
trends.
Optimise cost allocation and improve system reliability through continual analysis and tuning.
Collaboration with Application Delivery Team
Partner with application delivery teams to build and deploy cloudnative applications.
Provide guidance on best practices for:
Azure service selection
Security and identity
Networking architecture
Storage optimisation
Deployment and automation strategies
Influence architecture decisions and act as a governance point for Azure implementations.
Data Management & AI / Machine Learning
Collaborate and contribute - designing cloud-based data storage solutions.
