Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support patient care and clinical operations in a busy outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties while working closely with physicians nurses and office staff to ensure quality patient care and smooth clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Obtain and document vital signs and patient progress information
- Assist physicians during exams and clinical procedures
- Prepare trays and supplies for injections and treatments
- Administer injections and assist with pap smears and other procedures
- Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas in a clean and organized manner
- Assist with scheduling chart preparation filing and reception duties
- Coordinate insurance authorizations for:
- Physical therapy
- MRI and CT imaging
- Surgical procedures
- Obtain referrals and referral extensions from primary care providers
- Implement nursing care activities under the direction of nursing leadership
- Observe and report patient responses to treatments and procedures
- Participate in unit operations and patient flow management
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for documentation and patient care coordination
Requirements
- Active LPN license required
- Previous outpatient or acute care experience preferred
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records strongly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent patient care and customer service skills
