Job Summary
The Purchaser will oversee procurement operations for Skilled Nursing Facilities ensuring timely and cost effective purchasing of medical supplies equipment dietary items and other essential materials. This role requires a strong understanding of the operational needs of long term care and the ability to maintain uninterrupted support for resident services.
The ideal candidate has experience working within SNF environments understands compliance requirements and can manage vendor relationships while maintaining accurate inventory and cost controls. Strong organizational skills and proactive follow through are essential to ensure facilities operate efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and purchase medical supplies equipment dietary items and operational materials
Maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate pricing when appropriate
Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely ordering to prevent shortages
Track expenses and support cost control initiatives
Ensure compliance with regulatory and facility standards
Coordinate with facility leadership regarding purchasing needs
Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records
Qualifications:
Prior Skilled Nursing Facility purchasing experience required
Strong knowledge of medical and long term care procurement processes
Experience with vendor management and cost control
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
