Position Summary
A North Carolina public school system is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher to provide engaging instruction and workforce preparation in one or more of the following program areas:
- Trade and Industrial Education (Metals/Welding focus)
- Agricultural Education
- Business Finance and Marketing Education
The ideal candidate will prepare students for college careers industry certifications and real-world workplace success through hands-on learning experiences leadership development and community partnerships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging CTE instruction aligned to North Carolina Standard Course of Study and CTE Essential Standards.
- Develop lesson plans projects labs and assessments that support career readiness and technical skill development.
- Maintain a safe organized and effective classroom/lab/shop environment.
- Integrate employability skills work-based learning and industry practices into instruction.
- Utilize technology and equipment relevant to the instructional area.
- Maintain accurate student records grades certifications and program documentation.
- Collaborate with school staff business partners advisory committees and community stakeholders.
- Participate in professional development and required CTE trainings.
- Supervise students during classroom laboratory and work-based learning activities.
- Promote equity student engagement and positive classroom management.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
Use standard office equipment such as personal computers printer copy and fax machines and telephone. Use of standard CTE equipment as it applies to subject area.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Work Schedule
Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teachers Contract.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge ofCTE curriculum and trade requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to use necessary equipment for CTE trade.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Physical and Mental Demands Work Hazards
Work in standard office and school building environments.
Qualifications Profile
Certification/License:
- State Certification as required for position.
- Motor Vehicle Operators License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education:
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree preferred.
Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
