GBA a full-service architectural and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Life Sciences group. We specialize in biopharmaceutical facility design and deliver integrated solutions for leading industry clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex high-impact projects from concept through completion in a collaborative growth-oriented environment.

GBA is offering a long-term career opportunity for a senior mechanical engineer with 7 years of experience. The candidate will use their extensive experience in building system design to design complex facilities for top bio-pharmaceutical clients. Youll work directly with clients to establish design criteria develop solutions that balance spatial functional and budgetary needs and ensure compliance with applicable codes standards and regulatory expectations.

What Youll Do

• Lead design of HVAC plumbing and mechanical utility systems for complex biopharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing facilities
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated building solutions that respond to client spatial functional and budgetary needs
• Perform design calculations equipment selections and review calculations and equipment selections performed by project team members
• Evaluate and assess existing mechanical systems; develop retrofit and upgrade strategies
• Work directly with clients to establish design criteria and develop design concepts that meet project goals and budgetary expectations
• Write technical specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain project quality assurance and coordinate with other disciplines (architecture electrical process engineering fire protection)
• Conduct field reviews investigations and support construction and commissioning phases
• Mentor and guide junior engineers; contribute to technical excellence across the team

What You Bring

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Mechanical Engineering
• 7 years of experience
• Experience with complex building projects; Life Sciences experience preferred
• Proficiency in REVIT required; AutoCAD experience is a plus
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a technically challenging team-oriented environment
