Metros Finance and Administration Division is seeking a dynamic Hybrid Work Project/Program Manager II (PPM II)who will be responsible for planning coordinating and delivering initiatives that support the next phase of the agencys hybrid workplace implementation. This role ensures activities are planned well communicated operationally smooth and aligned with organizational goals employee experience change management practices and Executive direction. The position will coordinate cross-functionally with human resources facilities technology and communications teams to ensure a consistent experience for employees in a hybrid work environment. The successful candidate will bring strong communication skills and a track record in successful project management.

This role will require onsite presence at King Street Center and other King County worksites (as needed) 4-5 days a week with potential for 1 day a week telework as business needs allow.

This recruitment will be used to fill one Term Limited Temporary/Special Duty Assignment addition this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future career service term limited temporary and special duty assignment vacancies that may occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility pool will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.

*For Special Duty Assignment interest you must be a Career Service Career Service Exempt or other regular (non-temporary) employee in King County who has completed probation in your current position. You must have supervisor approval before taking a Special Duty Assignment.

Job Duties

Applying equity and social justice principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. As the Hybrid Work PPMyou are expected to model and apply equity and social justice shared values behaviors and practices across all of the job duties such as:

  • Support planning and execution of Metros hybrid workplace implementation including developing schedules milestones and communications with input and collaboration from stakeholders including employees leadership King County FMD and KCIT partners vendors and external consultants
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure workspace readiness and resource availability; lead and facilitate project meetings with partners
  • Gather and analyze data related to hybrid workplace programs and use to monitor and report on scope and schedule of projects
  • Respondto inquiries regardingtheproject including managing an employee-facing SharePoint site with project updates and hybrid work resources
  • Assist in development of various communications process and policy documents and other employee guidancebased oninput fromleadershipemployeesandtechnical andsubject matter experts
  • Manage all move and space planning details in collaboration with Metro divisions including: scheduling and oversight of remaining consolidation efforts; coordinating disposition or relocation of existing furniture and equipment in support of sustainability goals; managing incoming furniture developing communications throughout move activities; and managing the post-move closeout process including developing a process for ongoing support.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills

Minimum Qualifications Include:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in program planning and project management including taking projects from concept through completion with the development of project plans schedules and metrics.
  • Strong grasp of project management principles methodologies and best practices
  • Skill at goal setting with the ability to organize people and activities to accomplish strategic work plans and deliverables within established timelines
  • Demonstrated experience multitasking and managing projects in a high stress environment
  • Comfort and flexibility in navigating a complex political environment while managing multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience building equity safety and sustainability into a project or program as it is designed implemented tracked and communicated
  • Understanding of general government operations principles procedural requirement and organizational systems
  • Knowledge of public agencies partner organizations and operational systems relevant to project or program implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a confidential capacity on sensitive projects reporting up to members of leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with leaders managers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to build effective relationships with a variety of audiences including leadership while demonstrating principles of engagement and equity and social justice
  • Ability to work with and provide exceptional customer service to employees
  • Proficiency in gathering analyzing and utilizing data with technology and other analytical tools to support project planning and evaluation
  • Ability to identify issues evaluate options and recommend solutions using data-informed methods.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software including Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint SharePoint Visio and Teams


Competitive Candidates Will Have (but not required)

  • Experience managing workforce planning facilities planning or hybrid workplace programs.
  • Two years of direct project management experience
  • Knowledge of King County policies & procedures

Work Schedule
The work week is 40 hours Monday through position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.

WorkLocation

This is a hybrid position. The main work site for this position is King Street Center 201 S Jackson St. Seattle WA 98104. The team works in a hybrid model with days in the office as well as telecommuting.This position will work up to 5 days a week onsite. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
