Whats the role
Youll take the lead in shaping how performance and nonfunctional quality are built into some of our most critical platforms. This role is all about setting the standards that help teams deliver software that is fast resilient scalable and reliable. Youll define performance strategies embed nonfunctional testing into delivery pipelines and make sure quality is designed in from the very start rather than tested in at the end.
Youll work closely with product engineering architecture and risk partners to define meaningful nonfunctional requirements and guide design decisions early. Youll also coach and mentor engineers helping lift performance engineering capability across teams and creating consistent highquality practices. Along the way youll use data metrics and insights to highlight risks drive improvements and improve customer experience.
This is a permanent hybrid role based in Sydney on Gadigal Country giving you flexibility while working on systems that truly matter at scale.
What do I need
Experience leading performance engineering or nonfunctional testing for businesscritical systems
Strong understanding of nonfunctional requirements SLOs and SLAs in complex or regulated environments
Handson experience with performance testing tools and CI CD integration
Confidence interpreting performance results and driving improvement with engineering teams
A collaborative mindset and a passion for coaching and continuous improvement
