- Assists students with physical disabilities according to their needs includingtransferring to and from wheelchairs lifting or positioning.
- Assists students with physical needs and personal care including feedingbathroom needs and personal hygiene.
- Helps manage behavior of students.
- Assumes responsibility for learning and adapting to each students specialmedical physical communicative and emotional needs.
- Works with individual students or small groups to develop motor skills andconduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.
- Helps supervise students throughout the school day inside and outside theclassroom.
- Keeps the teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
- Protects and maintains the confidentiality of information that pertains tostudents or staff members.
- Participates in staff development training programs faculty meetings andspecial events as assigned.
- Demonstrates punctuality and good attendance.
- Interactions are supportive courteous and respectful with students parentsstaff community members and other professionals.
- Complies with all verbal and written directives.
- Responds constructively to supervision and guidance.
- Records documentation as required.
- Demonstrates effective organization in the use of time and resources to carryout assigned duties.
- Helps with care and maintenance of equipment.
- Provides orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
