The Advanced Learning Coach provides direct instructional coaching consultation technical assistance and leadership in the areas of program design standards professional learning and support for teachers administrators and schools across the district in gifted and advanced education.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelors degree in education or a directly related field plus five years of experience in education.
- Current Arkansas educator license.
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in technology/computer skills.
- The ability to interpret and apply state laws federal laws and district policies governing school programs.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- A current Arkansas educator license including a GT (Gifted and Talented) endorsement.
- The ability to initiate and maintain independent work that supports the districts vision and mission.
- Strong knowledge of the Arkansas GT Program Approval Standards/Rules.
- Knowledge of the rules regulations and statutes related to gifted education.
- Knowledge of accelerated learning options and instructional strategies for advanced learners.
- Knowledge of the organization and operation of public schools.
- The ability to develop evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of programs and services related to gifted education and acceleration at the campus and district levels.
Duties:
- Collaborate and coordinate with district administration curriculum teams and school leadership to support the vision mission goals and priorities of the district.
- Provide direct coaching technical assistance and student support to teachers related to gifted and talented (GT) programs and services ensuring they meet the educational needs of gifted and talented children in accordance with Arkansas law and district policies.
- Provide coaching modeling and support for classroom teachers to implement advanced and accelerated learning opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of current research effective instructional practices and state initiatives.
- Design prepare and facilitate professional learning opportunities to support all district educators in meeting the needs of advanced learners and learners identified as in need of gifted services.
- Assist in the development of district policies and procedures that support accelerated learning and include flexibility to ensure students have access to opportunities beginning at school entry and extending through graduation.
- Guide educators in the meaningful and personalized incorporation of accelerated learning in student success plans.
- Facilitate opportunities for school personnel to develop innovative programming to support the needs of their learners.
- Support district-wide and campus-level student enrichment opportunities.
- Collect maintain summarize and provide records and research data as directed by district administration.
- Travel between district campuses is required. Allowed travel expenses including mileage will be reimbursed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
