Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic School is seeking a dedicated teacher for 4th grade. This position combines excellent academic instruction with faithful commitment to the schools mission: forming students in faith character and lifelong learning within an authentically Catholic school community.

Position Summary

As the 4th grade teacher you will provide instruction that supports the integral formation of the whole person including the moral and spiritual growth of students not merely the transfer of information.
You will also contribute to a school culture where faith culture and life are brought into harmony and where teachers daily witness supports the Churchs catechetical mission.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver lessons that meet students academic needs while aligning with the schools overall educational goals.

Create an atmosphere that supports learning and formation together where classroom life helps students grow in wisdom with Catholic values integrated into the school day.

Help foster a classroom community that reflects the Catholic schools identity as an educating community marked by relational dialogue respect and trust.

Collaborate with school leadership and families to support student growth in knowledge virtue and Christian living.

Participate in school-wide faith practices as directed by the administration including support for prayer and liturgical life.

Faith & Catholic Identity Expectations

Because the Catholic school is an ecclesial entity and a privileged environment for Christian education recruitment criteria exist to protect and promote the schools Catholic identity.
Accordingly the Archdiocese/school requires that teachers:

Are committed to the Catholic identity of the school and understand their responsibility to promote (and/or respect) that identity.

Demonstrate the kind of Christian commitment in which teachers help transmit values for living and cultivate a living faith relationship with Christ through daily witness.

Provide reliable fidelity to the catechetical message when catechetical instruction is part of their role.

Recognize that if a person does not meet the Catholic schools requirements for belonging to the Church community the school will take necessary steps including dismissal on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications

Appropriate Michigan teaching certification/licensure for elementary education (or documented eligibility).

Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged children.

Ability to collaborate professionally while embodying Catholic values and Christian witness in daily practice.
