Job Summary
Department Overview
The Peds Rehab Supervisor will oversee and manage a team of approximately 15 physical therapists
occupational therapists and/or speech-language pathologists within the acute care outpatient and/or NICU
setting. This role involves a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities ensuring high-quality
patient care effective team performance and efficient departmental operations. The supervisor will work
closely with multidisciplinary teams to foster a collaborative environment and support the continuous
professional development of staff.
Function/Duties of Position
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Lead and supervise a team of physical therapists occupational therapistsand speech-language pathologists.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations provide constructive feedbackand implement development plans.
- Evaluate staffs competency and intervenes to optimize performance andensure safe quality effective and efficient patient care.
- Oversee recruitment hiring orientation and training of new staff members.
- Ensure staff compliance with hospital policies procedures and regulatory standards.
Clinical and Operational Management
- Allocate and manage resources effectively to meet patient care needs.
- Monitor and evaluate productivity ensuring optimal scheduling andworkload distribution.
- Address and resolve clinical issues providing guidance and support to staff.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and regulatoryrequirements in rehabilitation therapy.
Quality Improvement and Performance Enhancement
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes anddepartmental efficiency.
- Implement evidence-based practices and protocols to improve clinical care.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor performance metrics and identify areasfor improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and integratedpatient care
Communication and Collaboration
- Foster open communication within the team and across other hospitaldepartments.
- Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss patient care address concernsand share updates.
- Act as a liaison between the rehabilitation department and hospitaladministration.
- Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Participate in hospital committees representing the rehab department
Direct Patient Care
- Provide direct clinical care to patients maintaining clinical expertise andunderstanding of current patient care practices.
- Assess develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patientsin the acute care setting.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive andcoordinated care.
Other Duties as Assigned
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree or higher in Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a pediatric care setting with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Current and valid license to practice in Oregon in either Physical Therapy Speech-Language Pathology or Occupational Therapy
- American Heart BLS for Healthcare Provider.

Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare administration coursework or degree
- Union experiences preferred
- Pediatric acute care experience
- NICU experience
- Pediatric outpatient experience
- 2 years of recent formal or informal leadership experience
Additional Details
- Office work schedule associated with leadership in a clinical setting i.e. may require long hours to achieve timely completion of work projects.
- Required prioritization of multiple projects activities and assignments
- Repeated interruptions in an environment of frequent change and fluctuations
- May be exposed to excessive auditory and visual stimulation
- Accepts accountability and responsibility of the assigned work area
- May be required to attend out of town conferences according to hospital travel and reimbursement policies
- Subject to computer work for several hours as needed
- Exercises the ability to implement a flexible schedule to meet operational needs and to create work-life balance
