The organisation has a rich history in New Zealand dating back to 1908 when the Peace Scouts for girls 1928 Peace Scouts became GirlGuiding and New Zealand joined the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) as a founding member. Today New Zealand is one of 150 countries that belong to the association.
About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to support volunteer engagement membership growth and programme delivery across the Mid and Upper North Island.
Reporting directly to the Membership & Programme Manager some of your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting recruitment onboarding and development of volunteers
- Leading volunteer and member support processes across the region
- Supporting youth engagement unit health checks and membership growth
- Coordinating volunteer meetings training and development initiatives
- Supporting health and safety complaints and incident management processes
- Building strong relationships with volunteers caregivers and stakeholders
- Leading regional initiatives and supporting continuous improvement projects
- Travelling across the region to attend events meetings and programmes
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience within not-for-profit education or community sectors
- A Bachelors degree (or higher) in a relevant field is advantageous
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience within team environments
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to identify process improvements and support system development
- Excellent communication and organisational capability
- Positive flexible and collaborative working style
- Current full clean drivers licence
