Your next career opportunity
In this role you will support Indigenous young people to engage in education sport and culture.
You will help students navigate daily program requirements build confidence and progress towards meaningful work and study pathways.
What you will deliver:
- Support recruitment and enrolment of ASHE students including liaison with families agencies and service providers.
- Provide daily practical support including transport attendance monitoring and encouragement to meet study and placement commitments.
- Assist teachers in the VPC classroom motivating students and facilitating engaging learning sport and group activities.
- Coordinate and participate in community cultural and traditional games activities that strengthen student identity and connection.
- Contribute to planning delivery and reporting for ASHE programs including ASHEDay ASHEFest and student pathway planning.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold a Certificate IV or Diploma or bring equivalent education training and experience in youth support.
- Demonstrate experience supporting Indigenous young people and understanding the challenges affecting them their families and communities.
- Show active commitment to youth development with a track record of motivating and encouraging daily participation.
- Bring developing group facilitation and activity delivery skills with the ability to solve problems constructively.
- Model positive workplace behaviours and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams using strong communication and presentation skills.
- Possess sound knowledge of the Shepparton Indigenous community including Rumbalara Football Netball Club and basic Microsoft Office skills.
