Human Resource Coordinator (Temporary 6 Months)
Downtown Edmonton Full-Time In Office

A well-established organization in downtown Edmonton is seeking a HR Coordinator to support their People & Culture team during a period of growth and operational transition. This is a minimum 6-month temporary position with the potential for extension.

This position has been created to help transition routine high-volume HR administrative work away from HR Business Partners so they can focus on more strategic initiatives. Over time the role is expected to transition into a hybrid schedule once the successful candidate is fully onboarded.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career HR professional who is detail-oriented curious and interested in how HR operations can be streamlined and improved.

About the Role

The HR Coordinator will support a variety of recurring HR administrative processes and system-based work ensuring accuracy consistency and efficiency across key employee lifecycle activities.

The ideal candidate is someone who is proactive eager to learn and interested in improving how HR processes are deliverednot just executing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support routine HR administrative processes previously managed by HR Business Partners
  • Process employee-related updates including referrals union step increases and other HR transactions
  • Maintain accurate employee data and records within HR systems (Workday experience preferred)
  • Assist with documentation reporting and data validation
  • Support ongoing HR operational workflows
  • Collaborate with HR team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of work
  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline administrative processes

What Were Looking For:

  • 12 years of HR experience or a recent graduate with strong HR/co-op or administrative experience
  • Exposure to HR systems (Workday experience is a strong asset)
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with high-volume repetitive tasks
  • Curious mindset with an interest in process improvement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)

Additional Details:

  • Minimum 6-month temporary position (with potential extension)
  • Location: Downtown Edmonton (bus route accessible parking is not provided)
  • Schedule: Full-time in office to start; transition to hybrid once onboarded
  • Criminal record check required as part of the employment process
