What does a PART Time Substitute do

As a part time permanent substitute teacher at James Island Christian School you will have the rewarding opportunity to engage with students from K5 through 12th grade. This part-time position not only allows you to lead classroom activities with provided teaching plans but also enables you to enhance your classroom management skills while fostering student engagement. Flexibility is key as there may be moments when you will assist the front office and your fellow teachers with various projects such as making copies laminating materials or answering phones. Throughout your time with us you will receive guidance and support from our principal and head of school ensuring that you have the resources necessary to succeed.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Bachelors Degree or higher
• Certified by the state of South Carolina and/or Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) or eligible for certification.
• Use of effective oral and written communication to provide instruction for the assigned students grades and subjects.
• Maintain a safe classroom environment conductive to learning.
• Flexibility is important as you may teach multiple different classes in one day.
• Consistently model Christ for students.
