Job Summary

As Sustainability Officer you join a compact and highly strategic team at Group level responsible for shaping and rolling out the sustainability agenda across BESIXs international operations.

You play a key role in translating strategy into concrete actions ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and embedding sustainability into the companys culture decision-making and day-to-day operations.

Your responsibilities

1. Driving sustainability strategy

  • Contribute to the development and continuous refinement of BESIX Groups sustainability strategy
  • Monitor market trends regulatory developments and emerging risks & opportunities
  • Help design and implement KPIs dashboards and reporting frameworks to track progress and support decision-making

2. Embedding sustainability in the organisation

  • Support the integration of sustainability into governance risk management and strategic decision-making processes
  • Drive cultural change by promoting sustainability across all levels of the organisation
  • Develop and roll out training initiatives for executives and operational teams
  • Build and support a global internal sustainability network
  • Contribute to incentive frameworks and performance management systems linked to sustainability objectives

3. Ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Play a key role in achieving and maintaining full compliance with CSRD requirements (incl. double materiality data governance and reporting)
  • Ensure alignment with key frameworks such as ESRS and EU Taxonomy
  • Coordinate with business units and corporate functions to ensure consistent implementation across the Group
  • Collaborate with Legal Compliance and ICT on data governance systems and reporting tools

4. Managing stakeholders & reputation

  • Maintain relationships with auditors rating agencies certification bodies and regulatory authorities
  • Support the development of BESIXs sustainability positioning together with Communication
  • Represent the Group in relevant external forums and partnerships

Qualifications :

  • Masters degree in e.g. Business Economics Law Engineering or Environmental Sciences
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate sustainability (e.g. climate energy circularity workforce or governance topics)
  • Experience in construction or infrastructure is a strong asset
  • International exposure is a plus
  • Fluent in English with good knowledge of Dutch and/or French
