Staff Platform Software Engineer

Primary Function of Position
We are seeking a Staff Platform Software Engineer to join the software team within the Endoluminal business unit and help drive AI developer enablement initiatives across the company. The successful candidate will build and operate the backend systems that power APIs data access and developer workflows.

Essential Job Duties 

• Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs
• Develop data access layers and abstractions for consistent data consumption
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for services and infrastructure
• Implement automated testing strategies (unit integration performance)
• Define service reliability standards including SLAs retries and fault tolerance
• Enable data discovery and access patterns across systems
• Partner with data and frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Continuously improve developer productivity through tooling and automation

Qualifications :

Required Skills and Experience 

• Strong backend development experience (Go Python or similar)
• Experience designing REST and/or GraphQL APIs
• Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices (Git pipelines automated testing)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes)
• Understanding of authentication authorization and API security
• Experience with performance tuning and scalability optimization
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset

Required Education and Training 

• Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in software platform engineering.

• Experience working with medical devices or other regulated industries.
• Experience with defining and implementing data privacy requirements.

This position may be filled at a different job level than listed here depending on
business need and/or on the selected candidates experience knowledge and skills.
Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidates qualifications consistent with applicable law.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives benefits and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience skills and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
