OUR MISSION
Our mission is to ensure the physical operational and financial integrity of the regional flood risk management system in southeastern Louisiana as a defense against floods and storm surge from hurricanes. We accomplish this mission by working with local regional state and federal partners to plan design construct operate and maintain projects that will reduce the probability and risk of flooding for the residents and businesses within our jurisdiction.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a mission-driven public agency dedicated to protecting Southeast Louisiana communities. Employees in this position gain broad exposure to all aspects of human resources including employee relations recruitment benefits Civil Service compliance and strategic workforce support. The role also provides opportunities to collaborate closely with leadership and contribute to agency-wide initiatives and operational success.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of human resources experience; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties
Prepares hire forms and personnel action forms to process employee transactions in assigned areas of responsibility while ensuring compliance with Civil Service Rules and SLFPA-E policies.
Coordinates with the Finance Department to ensure employees are paid accurately and timely including proper processing of benefits and payroll deductions.
Creates maintains and updates employee files including public records confidential records and Performance Evaluation System (PES) files while ensuring proper segregation of confidential information
Tracks employee eligibility for permanent status and reports status changes to Civil Service
Coordinates annual enrollment sessions and assists employees with benefit enrollment and qualifying life events.
Processes COBRA notifications and enrollments.
Maintains employee benefit enrollments in applicable vendor systems including OGB LASERS MetLife supplemental plans and Louisiana Deferred Compensation. Ensures payroll deductions are accurately reflected in ADP.
Prepares reports as requested by the Human Resources Director Regional Director and/or Board of Commissioners. Ensures LDOLE-77 forms are completed and submitted timelyPosition-Specific Details:
