Job Summary:
The Material Handler (Water Spider) will be responsible for transporting parts and materials throughout the facility utilizing a forklift or hand truck in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely transport both delicate and valuable parts as well as general warehouse materials across multiple departments adhering to designated routes and prioritizing movement tasks.
- Coordinate with module shops Leads and Ops Leadership to align on material movement priorities.
- Manage inventory of crates boxes and scrap parts including visual inspection of repaired items for quality assurance.
- Utilize foam machines saws and other tools to crate and uncrate parts ensuring compliance with standard procedures and quality documentation.
- Adhere to EHS procedures particularly in the safe operation of powered industrial trucks.
- Maintain organized inventory of pallets and crates and accurately document material movement and handoffs.
- Communicate effectively regarding part status to support production needs.
- Anticipate material and tooling requirements for upcoming work orders.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment effectively prioritizing tasks.
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Minimum one year of experience in warehouse stockroom or storage yard environments.
- Ability to lift push and pull items weighing at least 40 pounds.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts rated for over 15000 pounds.
- Fluency in English language with basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook and Excel).
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired Characteristics:
- Certification in crane and rigging operations.
- Proficiency in operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts and/or additional crane and rigging operations.
