Job Description:
This person will facilitate a non-credit course during our UB/UBMS six-week summer institute(s) for current UB/UBMS high school Pparticipants between 9th and 12th grade ranging in topics of math science civil rights communications financial literacy foreign language STEM computer literacy arts & humanities etc)
UB/UBMS summer staff will provide leadership and direction safe and supportive environments comfort and protection to the students parents and staff of the UB/UBMS program. Essential to be respectful of staff students UT personnel and UB/UBMS families. Refrain from participating in all illegal acts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be proficient in content area at minimum the high school level course equivalents.
* Experience working with high school youth.
* Positive responsible proactive engaging respective and mature role models.
* Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to provide leadership work within team structures and direct student groups.
* Have strong communication skills (2-way communication is essential); think critically.
Preferred Qualifications:
teaching experience
expertise/proficient in content area
classroom management and/or group facilitation with high school age youth
Proactive & Engaging
Youth team building
Small & large group mentoring
Responsible organized
classroom management is a must
