Job Summary

Our client is a major manufacturer of wind turbines and other green energy solutions.

They are seeking a diligent and meticulous Wind Turbine (WTG) Construction Manager with a long history of successfully completing utility-scale wind energy this role you will collaborate closely with PDs site engineers turbine suppliers EPC contractors and client reps to oversee end-to-end construction of wind turbine installation projects. The ideal candidate will possess enormous aptitude for managing wind farm construction activities including turbine erection heavy lifting operations electrical and mechanical installation commissioning coordination contractor management and site HSE compliance within large-scale renewable energy environments.

Please note that this role requires significant travel and a willingness to work in remote project sites. It is not necessarily based in the city of this posting.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities related to wind turbine generator (WTG) installation and wind farm execution.
  • Oversee turbine erection activities including tower installation nacelle lifting hub assembly blade installation mechanical alignment and pre-commissioning readiness.
  • Manage site construction schedules manpower allocation subcontractor coordination and daily execution activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate heavy lifting and crane operations associated with WTG transportation staging and erection activities.
  • Ensure all lifting operations comply with applicable international standards (e.g. ASME B30 EN 13000 or equivalent local regulations).
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with engineering specifications OEM installation procedures quality standards and HSE regulations.
  • Supervise electrical and mechanical installation activities including internal tower cabling grounding systems MV/LV connections switchgear integration and turbine auxiliary systems.
  • Monitor construction quality conduct inspections and ensure punch-list items are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Lead daily coordination meetings with contractors turbine suppliers logistics teams and construction personnel.
  • Identify and resolve construction bottlenecks technical issues and site execution risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure strict compliance with working-at-height procedures lifting plans permit-to-work systems and renewable energy safety standards.
  • Support commissioning and energization activities in coordination with OEM and electrical commissioning teams.
  • Manage site reporting construction progress tracking productivity analysis and project documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on installation efficiency construction quality and project execution performance.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 7 - 10 years of construction management experience in wind farm or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of turbine erection processes crane operations heavy lifting activities and wind farm construction logistics
  • Hands-on experience coordinating mechanical and electrical construction activities for wind turbine systems.
  • Strong knowledge of wind turbine OEM installation procedures construction sequencing and commissioning interfaces.
  • Proficient in crane load calculation methods and familiar with crane manufacturer load charts.
  • Experience managing EPC contractors subcontractors and multidisciplinary construction teams in site-based environments.
  • Strong understanding of HSE requirements including working at height lifting operations electrical safety and permit-to-work systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings technical specifications lifting plans and construction documentation.
  • Willingness to travel and work on remote project sites or rotational schedules when required. Six working days per week are required for construction projects.
  • Fluency in local language and decent working proficiency in English is REQUIRED. Other languages will be a bonus.
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering civil engineering construction management or a related field.
