Role Overview
The trainee will support the P&E Department in PACO (Process Automation Control & Optimization) team-related project activities with strong emphasis on digitalization data structuring and documentation enhancement. The trainee will be exposed to project workflows instrument databases drawing management digital verification tools and small improvement initiatives suitable for a 12-week internship.
Key Responsibilities
1. Digitalization & Data Structuring
- Instrument Data Validation & Clean-Up: Support review of instrument index I/O list and loop lists. Assist in digitalizing legacy data and updating metadata in project databases.
- Support Digital Engineering Tools: Learn and assist in using engineering tools such as SPI AVEVA viewers and digital twins. Perform simple verification checks (tag consistency missing attributes mismatches).
2. Document & Drawing Management
- Support Instrument Project Documentation: Review and update datasheets loop diagrams wiring diagrams cable schedules and C&E matrices. Track revisions.
- Assai Drawing and Document Close-Out Support: Assist in verifying that all comments for drawings or documents within the Assai system are properly addressed and closed out. Ensure that comments recorded in Assai are reviewed resolved and documented as complete.
3. Project Execution Support
Minor Engineering Support: Attend project meetings as observer assist in preparing technical queries support compilation of vendor catalogues and manuals.
- Simple Technical Assessments: Compare vendor datasheets track technical deviations and prepare summary tables.
4. Digital Improvement Initiatives (Intern Project)
- Develop small digital solutions such as instrument register automation dashboards digital folder structure standards or QR-code tag prototypes that will help simplify the tracking and record keeping of PACO P&E data.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Instrumentation Control Electrical or related engineering.
- Strong interest in digital tools and instrumentation.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with engineering software is an advantage.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship the trainee will gain exposure to project workflows digital engineering tools structured databases instrument documentation and digital transformation initiatives along with improved technical communication skills.
