Rate of Pay: 12.71 - 16.39 per hour
Summary:
The Park Ranger will be responsible for carrying out daily inspections ensuring facilities are safe secure clean and operational while delivering excellent service to park users and visitors. The role involves working across parks and open spaces supporting events carrying out basic gardening maintenance and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards including European Safety Standards EN1176.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily playground and leisure provision inspections in accordance with European Safety Standards EN1176.
- Carry out risk assessments and safety inspections across Newport City Council parks and facilities.
- Open and close facilities as required.
- Maintain high standards of security for buildings and associated areas.
- Ensure cleanliness standards are maintained across parks and facilities.
- Liaise with facility users and visitors to support positive use of the facilities.
Qualification:
- Good standard of general education.
Essentials:
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a play or parks environment.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual duties associated with the role.
- Flexible approach to working hours to meet service requirements.
